Taking 59 percent of the votes in the October Yokohama Move of the Month contest, Michael Shumway’s start at Utah Motorsports Campus was the clear winner.

Starting at the Six Hours of Utah, Shumway had plenty of fast company from open and closed-cockpit prototypes and manages to get around a few of them on the first lap. It’s a fun video to watch, something the voting NASA membership agreed with, choosing Shumway’s entry over all others.

Jake Latham’s video came in second at 39 percent, followed by Nicholas Dugdale’s fast TT lap NCM Motorsports Park at 26 percent, and Chad Aalders video, also from Utah Motorsports Campus at 23 percent.

NASA National partner Yokohama Tire is sponsoring the Yokohama Move of the Month by providing handsome wall plaques to each month’s winner. Shumway is the October winner, but be sure to watch for the next candidates starting in this issue of Speed News. We’ll publish the next contest the first week in December.

  1. Both Shumway and Latham made great passes, but I chose Latham because of the number of them against very high caliber competitors at the championships.
