NASA Texas Welcomes Marie Adams as New Regional Director

The National Auto Sport Association and NASA Texas are pleased to announce that Marie and Scott Adams will assume ownership of the NASA Texas Region, effective October 31, 2022. In addition to her current role as NASA National Project Manager, Marie will serve as the NASA Texas Regional Director, taking the reins from Will Faules who has owned and operated the Region since 2013. Faules will still have an active role in the region through the beginning of 2023 working side by side with Marie to ensure a smooth transition.

“I am beyond excited for this next chapter of my motorsports career,” said Marie. “My experience working with Will and the NASA Texas team, as well as my team at the National Office, has provided me the opportunity of a lifetime! I couldn’t be more grateful to them for the years of mentorship and support in helping me get here. The Texas Region has incredible drivers, challenging tracks, and endless possibilities for growth, in large part due to the foundation set by Will over this last decade. Scott and I couldn’t be more excited to pour our hearts and souls into the Texas Region for many years to come.”

“Working with NASA has been a dream come true,” said Faules. “From my time as a child watching my father race in NASA, to racing with NASA myself, and working with NASA in an official capacity for the last 18 years, I am so grateful for all the customers, regional officials, and the team at the National Office. I am proud of the work I’ve done here and excited for the future of motorsport in Texas with Marie at the helm. I couldn’t be more proud of her. NASA Texas is in good hands with the Adams now running the show.”

Having never been to a racetrack in her life, Marie attended her first NASA event in 2013 to support then boyfriend and racer, Scott Adams. From there, she quickly transitioned from spectating to assisting anyone and everyone with whatever necessary. Running errands, delivering lunches, presenting trophies and supporting Scott was the beginning of a career Marie never knew existed. As her interest in and experience with motorsports grew, so did her relationship with Scott, culminating in a surprise marriage proposal on Turn 1 at Circuit of The Americas in Austin, Texas, at a NASA event in 2017. The Adams married in 2018, with Will Faules officiating and many NASA family and friends in attendance. That is just one of the many fun and incredible memories between Scott, Marie and Will.

Scott Adams, NCAA Division 1 tennis player and tennis pro of 30-plus years began his endeavors in motorsports in 2007 when he bought his 1996 Acura NSX and took it to his first track day. With Scott’s lifetime of coaching experience, he quickly developed a passion to train and began a career in driving instruction, eventually becoming Chief Driving Instructor for NASA TX in 2010. Now having added two-time NASA National Champion to his extensive resume, Scott will bring his many years of leadership and motorsport experience to the table, as he serves and supports Marie in her new role. We wish Marie and Scott the greatest of success as they transition to serving and guiding NASA Texas to even greater heights.
