NASA Central Region Announces New Series Leaders for Time Trial Series, Super Touring Series, and HPDE 3/4 Groups

Adam Spence has raced across two continents and brings more than 15 years of experience to the table as NASA Central’s new Time Trial series leader. He started out in karts, moved into autocross, endurance racing, Time Trial and sprint Racing. His current car is ST1/TT1 6.2-liter LS-powered Miata. Spence has been instructing for several years and enjoys seeing drivers excel in all aspects of their driving. His energy and enthusiasm will bring fun and excitement to NASA Central’s TT program.

“I am looking forward to 2019 and beyond as we grow Time Trial in the Central Region,” Spence said. “My goals are to grow the series whilst increasing competition.”

NASA Central also has named Justin Kelly as its new HPDE3 and 4 series leader. Kelly is replacing Greg Hagopian, who is retiring after six years of service to the region and planning a move to Florida with his family. Kelly started karting at age 8 and has done everything from skydiving to racing motorcycles, target shooting and most recently started racing in American Iron. A machinist by trade, Kelly enjoys building racecars as much as driving them.

“I am stoked to get the HPDE3 and 4 drivers doing exercises that we’ve been wanting to implement for some time in Central Region,” Kelly said. “It’s going to be a blast!”

NASA Central also is excited to have Tiffany Kelly come on board as Super Touring series leader. Tiffany took auto body classes in high school, earning an internship and scholarship for her efforts. At 17, Tiffany bought her first motorcycle — behind her parents back! — and eventually took it to the track. After college and living overseas in South Korea, Turkey and England for five years, she returned to the states, met her husband Justin and got involved with NASA. She started in HPDE, moving to Time Trial and racing, becoming the ST4 regional champion and 2018 road racing rookie of the year. Her enthusiasm for the sport will help us continue building the ST classes in Central Region.

“I’m excited to help drivers build their cars to be as competitive as possible so ST racers can race at the limit!” she said.

Jeremy Butcher, Central Region Director was pleased with the new staffing.

“It’s a great leap forward to add Adam, Tiffany and Justin to our team,” Butcher said. “They bring enthusiasm to our program like never before!”
