Motorsport Ranch Cresson has two similar turns, Little Bend and Big Bend. One wraps around the outside the other. As you might imagine, Little Bend requires a bit more braking than Big Bend, which requires as little as you dare.
In the NASA Texas March Madness event at Cresson, Spec Miata racer Erin Price in the camera car gets the inside line on Robert Watson heading into Horseshoe, and inches alongside him at the exit of Tombstone. Here’s where your breathing slows and your eyes widen, and it shows the line possibilities through Big Bend, and why it’s a contender for the NASA Racing Gear Store Move of the Month.
Price has the inside line, and leaves Watson a lane, but Watson uses that racing room to carry a bit more speed to give him the edge coming out of Big Bend. Watson ended up finishing ahead of Price in that race, but both of them lived to fight another day. Well played, drivers.
