The list of superlatives runs long and wide. The 2018 NASA Championships Presented by Toyo Tires was the best, hosted the fastest, felt the grandest, and, this being Texas, of course, was the biggest event in NASA’s history.

A bucket-list track for so many drivers, the Circuit of The Americas attracted drivers from every NASA region and provided the backdrop for one of the most memorable experiences of their lives.

COTA delivered the grandeur of an FIA Formula 1 facility. COTA delivered scorching heat and humidity, challenging man and machine. COTA also delivered pouring rains that truly separated the most capable drivers and the also-rans.

Perhaps the biggest contest of them all was the Toyo Tires Classic, the Spec Miata Championship race that attracted more than 80 cars that raced in two separate groups. The racing was as close, as epic and fevered as expected, and the tech shed inspections were the deepest in NASA’s history. Some two weeks after champagne corks had popped, the order on the Spec Miata podium had been reshuffled due to tech shed disqualifications.

When everything was said and done, NASA had crowned 32 new racing and Time Trial champions. Look for all the stories in race coverage and championships.
