No. 219 Marcelo Calcagnotto scored the Spec E30 win on Sunday at Buttonwillow in April. Team Mick Blue Racing (black and yellow, No. 76) picked up the Spec E30 win on Saturday.

At the NASA SoCal April event at Buttonwillow Raceway, the elements were wind, cold, rain — and mud. Spec E30 and Spec E46 drivers battled changing conditions all weekend, making tire and setup choices a bit difficult throughout the weekend.

On Saturday, in Spec E30, Team Mick Blue Racing led the field, taking first place with a best lap time of 2:05.801. He finished 11.183 seconds ahead of Sean Aron, who clocked a fastest lap at 2:07.492. Third place went to Marcelo Calcagnotto, trailing the leader by 17.575 seconds with a best lap of 2:07.446.

In Spec E46, Andrew Clark dominated by setting the fastest lap of the race at 2:01.215. Close behind was Team Abuse of Power, finishing 1.887 seconds back and also managing the fastest lap in their class at 2:01.148. Third place was secured by Team Kid’s College Fund Motorsports, 7.437 seconds behind the leader, with a best lap time of 2:02.057.

No. 13 Andrew Clark scored two wins in Spec E46 at Buttonwillow in April.

Sunday’s rainy race followed with equally competitive performances, with a near photo finish in Spec E30, which was topped by Marcelo Calcagnotto, marking a best lap in the wet at 2:17.024. Team Mick Blue Racing took second, just 0.408 seconds behind Calcagnotto, and Pete Feldman was close behind with a .974-second gap from the first place.

Spec E46 saw Clark take his second win of the weekend with a dominant performance, clocking a fast lap  at 2:13.296. Team Abuse of Power finished 15.482 seconds behind, and Team TrackWeapons rounded out the top three, 15.995 seconds behind Clark.
