The NASA Utah race on May 6, 2023, at the Utah Motorsports Campus Outer Track was a thrilling event that saw some of the best drivers in the region compete for top honors. The race featured several series, including German Touring Series, Spec E46, Spec Miata and Super Touring.

In the GTS1 class, Bryan O’Meara emerged as the winner, finishing the race with a fast lap of 2:38.624. Patrick McDermott came in second, just behind O’Meara. Both drivers put on an impressive display of driving skills, navigating the challenging and long UMC track with ease.

The GTSU class was equally exciting, with John McInnes taking the top spot with a time of 2:22.780. Chris Haunold finished second, with a fast lap at 2:28.710. McInnes’ victory was well-deserved, as he showed great control and precision throughout the race.

The Spec E46 class saw some intense competition, with Jeremy Evans emerging as the winner with a time of 2:31.922. Richard Thiessens finished second, one lap down to Evans. Both drivers put on a great show, with Evans’ driving skills proving to be the difference in the end.

In the Spec Miata class, Steve Morrison emerged as the winner, finishing the race with a time of 2:32.814. Greg Troester finished second, just a fraction of a second behind Morrison, though Troester notched a quicker fast lap. Both drivers put on a great display of driving skills, with Bleak’s experience and precision ultimately giving him the edge. Jason Bleak finished third.

In Super Touring 1, Team Riot finished first with a 2:27.391 followed by David Perkins. Both drivers were racing Porsche 997s.

The Super Touring 4 was competitive, with Russell Biles and Steve Friedrich vying for the top spot. Biles emerged as the winner in ST4, finishing the race with a time of 2:31.508. Friedrich finished second. Jason Harward had the quickest lap time in ST4, and looked poised to take the win, but he was DQ’d.

In the Super Touring 6 class, Todd Green emerged as the winner, finishing the race with a time of 2:28.195 in an all-Mazda-Miata class. Zachary Lebwohl finished second, one lap down to Green.

In the Super Unlimited class, the victory went to the uncontested Team Larkins Sprint Team, which finished the race with a time of 2:23.186.

Overall, the NASA Utah race on May 6, 2023, was a great success, with the winners in each class showing great control, precision, and experience, proving that they are among the best drivers in the region.
