In a cold, wet and windy weekend of racing at the NASA SoCal event at Buttonwillow Raceway, the 944 Spec class showcased tight competition and thrilling performances. On Saturday, Charlie Buzzetti dominated the day in 944 Spec, leading with a remarkable best lap time of 2:04.033. Close behind, Marcelo Vine finished second with a narrow gap of just 1.001 seconds from the leader, clocking the fastest lap of the day at 2:03.486. These drivers are two past national champions. Kalem Fletcher claimed the third spot on Saturday, trailing Buzzetti by 14.947 seconds, rounding out a competitive field.

The following day, Marcelo Vine turned the tables to clinch the top position in 944 Spec with a best time of 2:28.269. Josh Cleye was hot on his heels, finishing a close second with a mere 0.159-second gap and a best lap of 2:28.025. Kevin Fry completed the top three, just 0.935 seconds behind the leader, with a best lap of 2:27.701.

This event not only highlighted the close competition among the drivers, but also showcased the strength of 944 Spec in the SoCal region, with 12 cars taking the green flag both days.
