NASA Arizona’s Super Touring series is shifting gears for 2026, and leading the charge is ST4 racer David Lindstrom with new energy, grassroots grit, and a driver-first vision for the Arizona Region.

Lindstrom is a Phoenix native passionate about grassroots racing. Lindstrom first joined NASA in 2011, initially participating in a handful of HPDE events. After a 10-year hiatus, he returned to NASA Arizona in 2021 to begin his competition career. Within a year, he was competing in Time Trial. Within two, he earned his competition license, and by year three, he completed his first wheel-to-wheel race in NASA’s Super Touring series. He now competes in ST4 with the No. 777 Nissan 350Z.

As the new Super Touring Series Leader, Lindstrom is ready to help others make that same climb. The Super Touring series is a tremendous opportunity for nearly any car to compete — from classic Nissan Sentras to supercharged Corvettes and Vipers on slicks, ST truly has a place for everyone.

“Chris Wynne made a great foundation for Super Touring in Arizona and I really just want to emphasize, and add to that. The first role of business for me is going to be really emphasizing the drivers, and creating more community among current drivers and then just opening up the avenues for new drivers,” Lindstrom said.

He acknowledged that while ST machines are diverse, it’s the drivers who make the series super. His first initiatives for ST will revolve around driver interactivity and attendance transparency. The idea is for drivers to better know who else is on the grid and how often they will be there. This also extends to individuals who have an interest in wheel-to-wheel racing.

“In a competitive setting, if you don’t know the people you’re driving against and if there’s not a whole lot of people showing up, that kind of cuts out a lot of the reasons that someone would even attend,” he said. “So, first and foremost my goal is to improve camaraderie among the current drivers and then increase through other means, possibly some transparency into upcoming attendance.”

Current racers should expect contact from Lindstrom in the near future, but for anyone else interested in Super Touring can email him directly.
