The white flag might be out, but neither of these two drivers is waving a white flag.

So you can follow along for this week’s installment of the NASA Racing Gear Store Move of the Month, Taylor Johnson has the car with the yellow roll cage and Charles Ford is in the upper right corner. These Spec3 drivers were having the lap of dreams as they battled to the finish.

As the video opens, Ford gets a bit out of shape in Turn 1, which allows Johnson to get on the inside, which, of course, does not pay off until five turns later in Turn 6 when he grabs the lead. Then, on the white-flag lap, it’s like a replay of the previous lap, but with out-of-class traffic to contend with.

The two are so close, Johnson’s driver-side mirror gets folded in as they go through Turn 1.

Johnson gets the advantage into Turn 6 again and leads Ford and the Spec Miatas under the bridge toward Turn 10. Ford carries a bit more speed through 10, which gave him the momentum he needed to edge Johnson out at the finish line, with fist pumps all around. Nice racing, guys.
