It has often been said here on the pages of Speed News what a great track High Plains Raceway is — and how underrated it has been. Well, this installment of the NASA Racing Gear Store shows how great the racing can be at High Plains and how challenging and fun the track layout is.
Teen Mazda Challenge driver Vaughan Weber is in the camera car giving 2024 NASA National Championship Dan Williams a lot of competition in classic Spec Miata battle of NB 1.8 car versus NA 1.6 car. They are two wide in so many places in a contest of who can brake the lightest.
It’s also a contest of youth and enthusiasm versus age and treachery, Williams being the elder of the two drivers. Both drivers are giving their all and it’s great fun to see such tight competition on the challenging layout of High Plains Raceway. Well done, guys.
