NASA Arizona driver Jason Griepentrog is playing a bit of defense coming out of The Bowl at Chuckwalla against fellow Arizonan and Teen Mazda Challenge driver Sarah Groot, who is trying to get by.
Passing him in the quick right-left onto the back straight is tough, and trying to get by him on the outside going into the left-hander at the end of the back straight is a tall order, but into the immediate right hander after that, Groot gets the line and the advantage, and makes the pass.
Groot finished in fifth place in both races in Spec Miata at Chuckwalla. Griepentrog picked up sixth- and seventh-place finishes that weekend.
