This is video proof that drifting is fun and cool and interesting, but it isn’t fast.
At the NASA Texas event Motorsport Ranch Cresson, Spec E46 racer Jason Rikke comes up on an out-of-class car and passes it at the exit of Buzzard Neck, which puts him in a less-than-ideal position heading into Horsehoe.
Rikke hits the apex and when he goes back to the throttle, the back of the car kicks out in a lovely drift. Rikke corrects and stays on the gas until he runs out of track, which is all Finkelstein needed to make the pass. By the time he got to Boot Hill, he had lost the position to Finkelstein.
The raced ended with Finkelstein taking the win and Rikke in second. Rikke won races two and three with with Finkelstein in second in both races. For the full story on the Spec E46 racing from Cresson, see the race report in Speed News.

That was wicked, car snapped from big understeer to oversteer. Good save.
When you saw that it started to understeer you shouldn’t have kept going with more steering input. Pedals instead. By doing that you created a situation that as soon as the tires gripped the rear end came around hard.
