Those early spring races on the East Coast can certainly changing conditions from the beginning of the race to the end, can’t they? The first couple of laps of this one are damp but drying, so they tip-toed around a bit at first, then went at it.

In this sizzling installment of the Move of the Month, sponsored by the NASA Racing Gear StoreNASA Mid-Atlantic Camaro-Mustang Challenge drivers Hunter Lydic in the camera car and Terry Sauvie in the white Mustang had the kind of race you hope to have every time you strap in.

Starting from pole position, Sauvie gets into the lead and holds Lydic off for much of the race, but Lydic initiates a pass in Turn 1 that takes him all the way to Turn 5 to complete. As the race wears on, Lydic keeps Sauvie behind him, but Sauvie is never out of his mirrors. A few laps later, Sauvie puts on a clinic in light braking to initiate a pass on the outside of Turn 1, which he finishes off in Turn 3. But Lydic still wasn’t done.

Lydic stuck to Sauvie’s bumper for a couple of laps, investigating his next move and finally pulls alongside Sauvie as the two enter Turn 1. Lydic is ahead by Turn 4, which is where he stays till the end after some more badgering from Sauvie. As Lydic crosses the finish line, he and Sauvie exchange a thumbs-up for a race well fought.
