This is one we all can identify with.

For this week’s NASA Racing Gear Store Move of the Month, NASA Southeast Spec Miata racer Keith Williamson is hot on the heels of Tal Tsfany through Roebling Road Raceway’s fast and tricky Turn 9.

Tsfany gets a bit of oversteer as he clips the inside curbing with his right rear wheel. As it becomes apparent that Tsfany isn’t going to be able to get the car straightened out, Williamson lifts and prepares to choose his escape route. Williamson gets it slowed up enough, veers left, then has to dart right to avoid contact. He loses traction because his left wheels were in the grass, but gets on the brakes hard enough to avoid the immovable and sturdy concrete wall. In fact, neither of them hit the wall. That is about as close as it gets. Nice save(s).

  1. Good save not to hit the car or the wall. I’m sure there was some luck involved too. Sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good.
I don’t know if it was that low curb that he maybe barely touched that caused it. Maybe just the aggressive setup of the car and/or the tires going away.
