Using the last little bit of extra pavement on the front straight to get around a competitor who didn’t get as good a start, NASA Northeast Honda Challenge racer Chris Vera pounced during the Fall Finale at Summit Point Raceway.

A crossover event between NASA Mid-Atlantic and NASA Northeast, the Fall Finale drew 21 Honda Challenge 2 cars from both regions, one of the largest H2 fields in recent memory.

Vera picked up four spots by the time the field exited Turn 1. Racing a Honda Civic coupe with a B series engine, Vera plans to upgrade to a K24 swap in the offseason. That should lead to more promising starts in the seasons to come.
