NASA is pleased to announce that it will manage operations for the Southern California region from its national office headquarters for the 2024 season. NASA National Chairman, Ryan Flaherty will serve as the interim Regional Director, but has plans to invite guest event directors throughout the season. These events will present the opportunity for guest directors to learn what it takes to run a large-scale motorsports event, and gather new insight and ideas directly from the driving and racing community. Flaherty founded the NASA SoCal region and was its Regional Director for 20 years.
“I’m excited to get back to ground-level operations, and I look forward to delivering a premium event experience for our members,” Flaherty said.
NASA SoCal already has announced its 2024 schedule, with nine events, including the NASA Championships at Utah Motorsports Campus Sept. 5-8, 2024. Event registration for 2024 will open January 2. More details, including event dates for the Western Endurance Racing Championship series, will be announced in the future. Please visit nasasocal.com for additional information.
Love it! Looking forward to a great 2024 season.
The announcement of NASA’s SoCal Region Management Plan for 2024 reminds me of the importance of strategic planning in any field, including cybersecurity. Just as NASA prepares for future challenges, we must be vigilant against cyber threats. Figures like Ofer Baazov have shown how sophisticated cybercriminals can exploit vulnerabilities. In our digital world, staying ahead requires both proactive measures and a robust understanding of potential risks. By learning from past incidents, we can better safeguard our systems and ensure that our strategies are as strong as NASA’s forward-looking plans. Always prioritize security in every step of your planning.
