The National Auto Sport Association is pleased to announce the 2022 WERC event schedule will feature 6 events including the first ever Seaside Cup scheduled for Weathertech Raceway Laguna Seca.
The Seaside Cup will immediately follow the 2022 NASA Championships during daylight hours starting Monday morning, Sept. 19, 2022. The 6.5-hour race will be strictly limited to 45 cars. NASA Vice President Jeremy Croiset said he fully expects the event to sell out quickly when registration opens in early 2022.
“We so rarely get to hold an event at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, and so when we were able to secure the September dates for our Championships, we thought, ‘Why not let our WERC drivers get in on the action?’” Croiset said. “With six and a half hours of racing during a 105 dB day to begin Monday morning, we’ll have a really wide variety of WERC racers that can run the entire race without the need for auxiliary lighting. It’s a challenging track that we’ve never used for an enduro, and our WERC teams are going to have a blast.”
The 2022 WERC season will have six world class events on its schedule, and each race will feature a different length keeping teams on their toes for strategy. The 2022 WERC schedule is as follows:
February 12 | Willow Springs Intl. Raceway | 3.5 hours |
March 26 | Auto Club Speedway | 3 hours |
June 11 | Auto Club Speedway | 4 hours |
July 29 | Utah Motorsports Campus | 6 hours |
September 19 | WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca | 6.5 hours |
October 15 | Buttonwillow Raceway | 4.5 hours |
