Four cars started in the ST1 class. SoCal region’s Terry Free, who won the TTU National Championship last year, started from pole in his Z06 Corvette. Dan Worley started from second in a Porsche 944 Turbo, with Michael von Quilich in third in his SRT Viper ACRX.
Free dropped out, leaving Worley and von Quilich to battle for the top spot on the podium. Racing on his home track, von Quilich got the best of Worley and took the win, with Pratt Cole in third place.
“The team worked real hard to get here and we did a great job,” von Quilich said. “We had some great competition and I’m really proud of what we accomplished here. NASA put on a great weekend.”
