A full day of testing and qualifying is underway at the NASA 25 Hours of Thunderhill Presented by Hawk Performance as teams get ready for one of motorsports’ most grueling endurance races.

About 40 teams are expected to take advantage of the sunny and dry conditions at Thunderhill Raceway Park to dial in their cars before the race starts at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 4. It’s the first time the 25 Hours of Thunderhill has run in two years because it was canceled in 2020 due to the pandemic.

With lots of sun and no rain in the forecast, this year’s 25 Hours of Thunderhill will be far different from 2019 when it rained for most of the race. Teams have taken advantage of the forecast, leaving the rain tires and tarps packed away.

Today’s schedule is (all times PST):

12-9 pm—NASA Tech opens and Registration opens
4:30 pm—Track testing ends
4:35-5:10 pm—(99 dBA at 75’) Qualifying, All classes except ES and ESR
5:15-5:50 pm—( 99 dBA at 75’) Qualifying, ES and ESR only
6 pm—Drivers and Officials meeting at Race Central
8 pm—Registration closed at 8 pm and will not reopen

NASA media will be posting updates throughout the weekend once qualifying and racing gets underway on Saturday.
