Toyo Tires debuted the new Proxes R at the PRI show in Indianapolis in December 2023 and have launched initial sales of the new tire this month. Even as the new Proxes R begins to become available in various sizes, it was important that NASA work with Toyo Tires to ensure supplies of the Proxes RR would still be plentiful for the current year.

NASA has known for some time that Toyo Tires was working on a new tire that it planned to launch this year. We were also aware of the challenges it would create if an attempt was made to integrate this new tire midseason into NASA classes. In light of this, we worked with our partners at Toyo Tires to secure an agreement that would ensure every NASA class that specifies use of the Toyo Proxes RR would have ample supply of tires throughout the 2024 racing season.

NASA is working with Toyo on validation efforts related to the new Proxes R, but the existing Proxes RR, which has come to define spec-class racing in NASA, is still available in ample quantities at preferred suppliers such as NASA’s Official Tire Supplier TrackDayTire.com.

With multiple warehouses located around the country, TrackDayTire.com can ship anywhere, with in-transit shipping time as little as one to two days.

“The Toyo Proxes RR is beloved by so many of our drivers, and we have worked with Toyo and our national partner TrackDayTire to ensure our competitors will have the tires they need to compete this season,” said NASA CEO Jeremy Croiset.
