The NASA Arizona Spec Miata series is gearing up for an exciting new chapter in 2025, with Eddie Yakin and Bradley Widhalm stepping up as series co-leaders. The two will take over for Robert Rose, whose dedicated leadership saw the series grow from single-digit participation to consistently fielding 20-plus cars in the last two seasons.

Both Yakin and Widhalm began their racing journeys in NASA Arizona’s HPDE1 group just five years ago as newly licensed teenage drivers. Now, as seasoned racers, they’re ready to steer the Arizona Spec Miata series toward a bright future.

Reflecting on the transition, Rose shared, “I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have led and grown our Spec Miata series,” he said. “Passing the torch to this younger generation of racers feels like the natural next step. They have earned the respect of their peers, on and off the track, and they bring fresh perspectives and ideas to support all of our competitors.”

Incoming series co-leader Yakin shared his enthusiasm, “Our regional group has come so far, and I’m eager to play a role in its continued development,” he said. “I’m dedicated to giving back and supporting its future success.”

Fellow series co-leader Widhalm added, “I’m excited to join the rapidly growing Arizona Spec Miata group and contribute to its continued success,” Widhalm said. “I’ll be leveraging social media to expand our reach, engage enthusiasts, and showcase the exciting events and achievements within NASA Arizona.”

Please join us in congratulating Eddie Yakin and Bradley Widhalm! We’re thrilled to have them take on these leadership roles within the NASA Arizona family and look forward to watching them guide the Spec Miata series to new heights for many years to come.
