NASA Welcomes Hagerty Motorsports as new National Sponsor

Hagerty Motorsports has just signed on as NASA’s newest national sponsor, a move that will bring added benefits to NASA members nationwide.

Time Trial and HPDE participants can get track day insurance on their personal vehicles against damage while participating in NASA HPDE and TT competition. Policies cover physical damage to your vehicle incurred by you, one additional driver, if pre-approved, and your driving instructor. Policies also include coverage for towing, rental car and pollutant cleanup charges. The policy protects your car in the paddock, but excludes liability coverage.

“Our team cares a lot about creating on-ramps to automotive enthusiasm. We love to encourage people to get out there and test both their cars and themselves during on-track experiences,” said Hagerty CEO McKeel Hagerty. “Any time you’re on the track, you end up learning a bit about your car and yourself. We’re really looking forward to partnering with the NASA team for a few years to turn on more enthusiasts to the rush and personal growth that on-track driving can bring.”

NASA members also are eligible to receive a 5 percent discount on collector insurance through Hagerty. Discount is for United States policies only, which are not available for California, Massachusetts and Tennessee.

Of course, insurance being insurance, there is fine print, and here it is: Track day policies are underwritten by RLI. Hagerty determines final risk acceptance. Some coverage is not available in all states. This is a general description of coverage. All coverage is subject to policy provisions, exclusions, and endorsements.

“Hagerty’s push to encourage enthusiasts to get out on track to have some fun and improve their skills dovetails brilliantly with what NASA is all about,” said NASA Chief Operating Officer Jeremy Croiset. “We’re excited to explore all the possibilities of our new partnership with Hagerty Motorsports.”
