With the 2024 racing season winding down and new products emerging in the performance and racing tire marketplace, NASA is embarking on a series of tire tests this fall, in addition to testing done this summer. These tests will evaluate performance and value propositions to put NASA racing classes on the best possible tires for the 2025 season.
These tests will be conducted by tire manufacturers, NASA racers and NASA National staff with the NASA racing member as the primary focal point. NASA will announce the results of the tests, tire selections and the contingency programs in plenty of time for adoption in the 2025 racing season.
NASA already announced the new tire for the NP01, the Hoosier NP01X, and details of the generous new tire and contingency program from Maxxis for Spec E30 competitors.
More tire selections will be announced in Speed News and via email in the coming weeks and months all in an effort to provide as much notice as possible and to foster a reasonable transition period if necessary.
