NASA Hawaii is excited to announce it has received approval from Aloha Stadium to use its lower parking lot for NASA Autocross events. Approved dates are Saturday, Aug. 21 and Saturday, Sept. 11, 2021. May 15 also is under consideration.
NASA Hawaii held its inaugural event April 17, with members of the Super Car Club of Hawaii taking part in the morning session. The afternoon session was hosted by the Circuit Hawaii development team and its founding members. NASA Hawaii invited core Hawaii Rally Sport Association/NASA Hawaii Region members will serve as safety and course workers.
For these events, Hawaii Rally Sport Association and Circuit Hawaii are title sponsors. The autocross events might supplant NASA Rally X events on the schedule to facilitate organizing these sponsored events. Joint events with Circuit Hawaii are likely to be instrumental in helping secure future opportunities between NASA Hawaii Region and Circuit Hawaii when it is completed.
Slated to be built in Campbell Industrial Park near Kalaeloa Airport on Oahu, Circuit Hawaii is planned as an FIA Grade 3 facility with a 1.5-mile road course and “motorsports country club,” with additional facilities for conferences, meetings and other festivities.
