Automotive enthusiasts and festival-goers up and down the Eastern Seaboard are gearing up for NASA Mid-Atlantic’s HyperFest, an event that will transform Virginia International Raceway into a high-energy automotive amusement park from May 16-18, 2025.

Widely regarded as one of the largest automotive festivals on the East Coast, HyperFest promises a weekend packed with diverse motorsports action, interactive experiences, and lifestyle entertainment, all centered around car culture.

Core to the weekend is the on-track activities at the sprawling VIR facility. The NASA Mid-Atlantic Region will host wheel-to-wheel road racing across various classes, providing continuous competition for spectators. Alongside the racing, the roar of engines and screech of tires will signal the popular drifting events, showcasing skilled drivers maneuvering their cars sideways through the infield Patriot course.

HyperFest Attendees have opportunities for thrilling ride-alongs with professional drivers in off-road, drift or race cars, offering a firsthand experience of VIR’s challenging courses.

The festival atmosphere extends well beyond the pavement. A large-scale car show featuring hundreds of modified, classic, and unique vehicles provides a visual feast for attendees. Off-road enthusiasts can explore dedicated courses, while burnout competitions and even unconventional events like the hot pepper eating contest and the Koni Downhill Attack.

Live music performances across multiple stages, a bustling vendor midway offering automotive parts and lifestyle goods, and on-site camping are major components, allowing thousands of attendees to immerse themselves in the experience for the entire weekend.

HyperFest aims to blend serious motorsports competition with a party atmosphere, attracting a broad spectrum of car lovers.

Organizers encourage attendees to check the official HyperFest website for the final schedule of events, ticket purchasing, camping information, and details on any participant driving opportunities.

The event runs Friday, May 16, through Sunday, May 18, 2025, at Virginia International Raceway, located in Alton, Va.
