This is perhaps the quickest onboard lap you have ever seen of Summit Point Motorsports Park in West Virginia. In this installment of the NASA Racing Gear Store Move of the Month, NASA Mid-Atlantic racer Ghais Khaleghi takes us on a scorching ride around Summit Point for some hot Time Trial laps in his first session of the day.
Khaleghi warms up with a 1:15-second lap, and then drops the hammer to click off a 1:11 as he enters his flyer laps. Khaleghi takes it deep into the braking zone in Turn 1, keeps up his minimum speed and carries that momentum all the way through turns 2, 3 and 4, dives into 5 and gets a good exit from turns 6 and 7. He carries more than 105 mph through Turn 10 on his way to a 1:09-second lap. It is an inspirational couple of laps all backed by the soundtrack of the BMW S1000RR motorcycle engine powering his Stohr prototype.
