Duncan Ellis captured the rain-soaked melee during Friday’s qualifying in Spec Miata at the Eastern States Championships Presented by Toyo Tires at Virginia International Raceway. As Ellis entered the front straight, the rainfall began to increase until it was an impenetrable deluge at the Start/Finish line, where racers began hydroplaning off the track and onto the grass where steering and brakes were essentially useless.
