This installment of the Yokohama Move of the Month is another example of how looking far ahead is one of the better tools in a racer’s toolbox. As NASA SoCal Spec E30 racer Marcelo Calcagnotto rounds Turn 1 at Willow Springs Raceway, all is well. It’s when the field enters Turn 2 that a long sight line into Turn 2 alerts Calcagnotto to trouble ahead, and he is able to brake hard before having to turn to the inside of a spinning car. It’s a near miss, but a miss nonetheless. Phew.
