On the last lap of a race at Virginia International Raceway in March, Russ Carter takes the long-held lead away from Hunter Lydic after a mistake in Turn 3. Lydic gathers it up and sets his sights on Carter, catches him at Oak Tree for a drag race down the back straight. Lydic retakes the lead in the Roller Coaster at Turn 14, and charges on for the win. A last-lap battle royale, indeed.
