You know, if you just look at the headlines from the 2022 NASA Championships, you might be tempted to think the new ST2 and TT2 champion Jake Latham had an easy time of it. He did score the triple crown, winning TT2, notching the top qualifying time on Friday, winning the qualifying race on Saturday and the Championship on Sunday.
But that wasn’t the case, as is evident from Latham’s video from the Saturday qualifying race. Latham trailed Ian Barberi all race long until a last-ditch pass in Turn 11 right before the white flag flew, and Latham also faced several challenges from Brett Strom, who finished third in the qualifying race. It’s a nail-biter of a race, and it shows how evenly matched three distinctly different chassis can be.

Worst … article … ever.
Just kidding, great job Jake. If was fun racing with you.
This was some of the best driving I’ve seen in a long time. It just goes to prove that we have some of the very best drivers in the country as members of NASA. Great stuff Gentleman.
Jake I’d love to chat sometime.
