Teen Mazda Challenge driver Joey Jordan goes from zero to hero during a Spec Miata race at Thunderhill Raceway. In a rented car, Jordan gets a world-class start, leap-frogging through a litany of other drivers before he even gets to Turn 1. A four-car melee in Turn 5A helps him advance to third. He chases down first and second place in the new portion of the track, then edges past the first-place car right at start finish. From last to first in one lap.
Holy, Mary mother of God! That was awesome. And I thought my starts were good. Ha ha.
