It’s still difficult to believe how someone could pull off a pass like this. Well into the braking zone, the No. 45 car was nowhere near alongside car No. 26, essentially trailing and on the outside, when the 45 car turned in hard and sliced right through the apex and found a spot right behind the 38 car, which had been several car lengths ahead. Right at that moment, you can almost hear ESPN sports caster Chris Berman yell, “Bwoop!” After that, things went a bit sideways — literally — and there was significant contact at the entrance to the Esses, which is another story we cover in the Nov. 11 NASA Speed News.
I look forward to the analysis of this “pass back” attempt next week.
Woo! Been watching Carlos Valenzuela drive for some time now, and he’s a BEAST!!! Dope pass…
