Holy smoke, this one is fun to watch. It flows like a sizzle reel for Spec Miata racing in general and the NASA Southeast Region in particular.

Driving the camera car, Jeremy Barnes takes the green flag and settles in for the first lap. As the front of the field sorts itself out, the red car of Javier Laurnaga just ahead of Barnes goes a bit wide in Turn 5 and sends a rock into Barnes’ windshield. Barnes keeps the front four in sight and uses the draft on the back straight to catch up a bit. The back straight at Road Atlanta is a drafting paradise!

The battle for second and third, and fourth and fifth for that matter, rages on all race long. Teen Mazda Challenge driver Dean Dybdahl capitalizes on the battle behind him and checks out while Barnes, Laurnaga, Yan Dia and Keith Williamson put on a clinic of tight racing all the way to and through the white flag lap. Tight racing, drafting, passing and re passing and late-race hijinks. This one has it all!
